Which Lens to buy? Canon 400 is lens L series or?

The 200 mm l series has a f/2.8 and I can put a 1.4 converter. Do this or get a 100 to 400 which has f/4.5 to 5/6 ? I shoot outdoors at wildlife.

Canon 100mm macro Lens?

Own: 350D, canon 10-22mm, 50mm 1.8, kit lens 18-55.
Hello, I just want a new mid range lens for a portrait as my xmas gift.
I look at 3 lens:
canon 85mm f1.8
canon 100mm f2.8 macro
canon 70-200 L f4
The price wont issue for me between the three.

CAnon Lens:what do you prefer USM or IS lens?

Does year 1990's telephoto zoom lens with USM features are still  good enough capturing sharp images such as:
75-300mm III USM
90-300mm USM
Whereas, the
55-250mm (new model) has IS
so, what would you prefer?
How USM is important than IS or vice-versa?
