are sigma four thirds fit lenses double the focal length in 35mm terms?

I know olympus four thirds system lenses are doubled up in 35mm terms, i.e.70-300 equals 140-600 in 35mm, but would a sigma four thirds lens, i.e.50-500 be equal to 100-1000?
