Canon 7D lenses - for shooting video - any thoughts?

Please Help! I'm a DSLR virgin!
I was wondering what lens is great for video.
I want to shoot video as much as photography. Something that is great for almost any situation. I was told a Canon 50mm is great? Especially something for low light situations.

Question about Canon's 70-200mm series?

There's five lenses in the 70-200 series:
f/4
f/4 IS
f/2.8

f/2.8 IS II
Are any of these lenses sharper than another, or are they basically the same (but have different max. apertures and IS)?

They are all part of Canon L series which mean they are built for Luxury. They are all [...]

Advice on buying a Canon lens?

I've been looking at the same lenses for weeks and I haven't been able to decide on anything.
I definitely want a good telephoto lens (I was thinking 300mm) that also goes quite wide, I already have an 18-200 so I want something longer.28-300 is too expensive and heavy [...]
